What is ecological is at the same time economic. Since the beginning of our company we have been convinced in the truth of this belief. For over twenty years every planned investment has been implemented on the basis of deliberate solutions which are directed on the environment and sustainable development.

  1. Ecology means efficient management of resources

ISO 14001: 2004 is one of the quality certificates which was obtained by the Podkarpackie Logistics Park on June 17, 2015 as a result of positively evaluated internal audit. PN-EN ISO 14001 contains the environmental management system requirements, which are useful in obtaining our environmental and economic objectives. In the Podkarpackie Logistics Park (more precisely – high-storage warehouse in Mokrzec) procedures of implementation of key warehouse operations were subjected to a mandatory audit (departments of: transport, shipping, administration, accounting and human resources) as well as procedures of supply chain management.

Ecology means efficient use of available resources including space. Therefore, the building in Mokrzec, as well as all premises of the PLP, was designed as a high-storage warehouse. It was made available from 2008 and currently has got 17 000 m² of usable floor area with the space for 28 000 pallets being stored at the same time. The maximum storage height equals 13 metres. An additional asset of the warehouse in Mokrzec is the possibility to adjust the conditions inside to the unique specificity of goods. As a result, various goods can be stored in the same place, which is impossible for standard warehouses.

  1. Ecology means logistics

Due to constant educating drivers about eco-driving we are able to improve fuel efficiency of vehicles and influence on protection the environment. Equally crucial remains the well-thought transport logistics already at the stage of loading goods. The use of special paper pallets and packaging manufactured for products intended for transport according to their specific dimensions allows to efficiently use the available loading space in a trailer. A bigger number of loaded packages equals a smaller number of drives needed to distribute goods to particular recipients. As a result, the CO2 emission is reduced and fuel costs are lower.

The delivery of goods directly to a customer is the next distinguishing feature of Eco-transport. Reducing a number of kilometres to an essential minimum is possible thanks to, inter alia, using appropriate type of vehicles and planning routes in respect of efficient driving style. What also counts is a well-planned route. Omitting intermediate distribution centres, avoiding (if possible) mountain routes and replacing them with road or urban ones reduces the time of transport and, as a result – reduces fuel consumption and the emission of contaminants to the environment.

  1. Ecology means competent planning

The level of fuel consumption and the level of environmental protection depend directly on the appropriate stacking of goods. Irrespective of the length of a planned route, goods should be stacked in a trailer evenly between all suspension axles of a vehicle. Such a method eliminates the risk of excessive tire deformation which reduces the rolling resistance of a vehicle at the same time. In case of unevenly stacked goods, it is worth moving them toward a drive axle. It will allow to preserve a high quality of driving despite transporting the most complicated goods of non-standard dimensions.

Ecology constitutes one of the fundamental pillars of our activity. Through competent management of the supply chain in compliance with the highest standards of environmental protection we are able to take advantage most effectively of the available resources – technology, warehouses and fleet. Therefore, we improve the quality of our services and, simultaneously, we increase our competitiveness on the market.
